This federation wanted to celebrate an act of recognition and dissemination of the research work of rare diseases in Spain aimed at those affected by a rare disease, their families and caregivers, health professionals, researchers and people interested in the diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases.
For the organization of the desired event, FEDER contacted Manatís due to the involvement of Director Jacqueline Ruiz in social causes to educate and prevent emergencies in the EMER Project. Thus, on Thursday, October 25, 2018, the International Day of Rare Diseases, the Hospital de Sant Joan de Déu d ’Esplugues de Llobregat hosted the 1st Scientific Symposium - Research on Rare Diseases. The challenge of this event, was not only the organization of the event and its registration, but it also required great coordination so that the conferences and speeches of the 17 speakers followed the scheduled schedule.
The event was a complete success, achieving the proposed objectives: Increase visibility, information and knowledge of rare diseases and the commemoration of the scientific research on rare diseases carried out by FEDER.
Although Manatís did a great job in organizing and executing the event, director Jacqueline Ruiz made it clear that "the credit goes to the FEDER research teams, who have spent 20 years thinking of those with diseases that many do not even consider studying."
